Daniel lives with integrity. When those who are jealous of his success try to bring him down, they cannot find any blemish in him (Daniel 6:4). Could Daniel's faithful existence have to do with his prayer life? He follows the model of the psalmist in Psalm 55:17: "Evening and morning and at noon I will pray, and cry aloud, and He shall hear my voice." God honors the faith and prayers of Daniel even in the lions' den. The writer of Hebrews pens, "who through faith subdued kingdoms, worked righteousness, obtained promises, stopped the mouths of lions" (Hebrews 11:33). Daniel is rescued "because he believed in his God" (Daniel 6:23).
