Day Six - I can Serve the Lord

Yesterday we looked at how God gives us detailed direction and helps us step by step. God is good He knows what we need and when we need it. Today we will be looking at how Samuel grew through his serving. 

READ:

‘A Voice in the night’ in any Children’s Bible or 1 Samuel 3

Samuel had many jobs to do in the tabernacle. Each job was important and helped others spend time with God in the tabernacle. 

However, it was not the work that Samuel did that helped him grow but it was spending time with God, reading scripture and spending time with other people who loved God.  

In 1 Samuel 2:26 it tells us that Samuel kept growing, he pleased God and the people. 

ASK:

How do you like to spend time with God? 

When you spend time with God how does this make you feel? 

Do you have any questions you would like to ask your grown up about how they spend time with God? 

There are so many ways that we can spend time with God, all of them help us to grow in our love and understanding. 

When we grow in our understanding of and love for God we want to serve others and help others to grow also and when we have a heart that is full of God’s love it is easy.

Open my eyes to see the wonderful things in your teachings. (Psalm 119:18)

PRAY:

I believe that the Bible has the greatest news

that you gave to help us find our way. 

Your word can be shared with anyone, anywhere! 

We trust what Your word says.
