Day One - I can Serve the Lord

Welcome to our Devotional, we are so glad that you have chosen to journey with us. We believe that the Bible is the greatest news and it is to be shared with anyone, anywhere! Do you know that God can use your words to share His message in ways that your friends will understand. So let’s dive deeper into the bible and see how God’s word is still relevant to our time! 

In our last plan we learnt all about how we can find God in the word (the Bible). 

Reading our Bible is just one of the ways we can see and hear about how God loves us and the promises He makes to us. This week we are going to be looking at how even though Samuel was very young when he went to the tabernacle, he was still able to serve the Lord and help others.

Do you remember Hannah (Samuel’s Mother) made a promise to God that if God blessed her with a baby boy she would make sure that he served God all of his life? 

We can read all about this in the book of Samuel which is found in the Old Testament. This part of the Bible was written many, many years ago.  

Remember it was not unusual for young boys to go and stay in the tabernacle to serve the Lord and learn how to become a priest. This was all very relevant to Samuel's time. 

Did you know that Samuel was a young boy when he started serving the Lord? 

ASK:

God blessed Hannah with a baby boy - can you think of a time when God blessed you? 

Hannah kept her promise to God - can you think of a promise you have made and kept? 

In the Bible it tells us that Samuel served the Lord - what do you think it means to serve the Lord? 

Maybe you can chat about this question with your grown up and ask them how you can serve the Lord?

I believe that the Bible has the greatest news

that you gave to help us find our way. 

Your word can be shared with anyone, anywhere! 

We trust what Your word says.
