Jūs, moterys, būkite klusnios savo vyrams lyg kad Viešpačiui, nes vyras yra žmonos galva, kaip ir Kristus yra Bažnyčios, savo Kūno, galva ir gelbėtojas. Kaip Bažnyčia klauso Kristaus, taip ir moterys visa kame teklauso vyrų. Jūs, vyrai, mylėkite žmonas, kaip ir Kristus mylėjo Bažnyčią ir atidavė už ją save, kad ją pašventintų, nuplaudamas valančiu vandeniu per žodį, kad padarytų sau garbingą Bažnyčią, neturinčią jokios dėmės nei raukšlės, nei nieko tokio, bet šventą ir nesuteptą. Taip ir vyrai privalo mylėti savo žmonas tartum savuosius kūnus. Kas myli žmoną, myli save patį. Juk niekas niekada nėra nekentęs savo kūno, bet jį maitina ir globoja kaip ir Kristus Bažnyčią, kadangi esame jo Kūno nariai. Todėl žmogus paliks tėvą bei motiną ir glausis prie savo žmonos, ir du taps vienu kūnu. Tai didis slėpinys, – aš tai sakau apie Kristų ir Bažnyčią. Taigi kiekvienas jūsų temyli savo žmoną kaip save patį, o žmona tegerbia vyrą.
