The Call to the Outcast

Jesus clarifies who His mission targets: "It is not the healthy who need a doctor, but the sick. I have not come to call the righteous, but sinners to repentance" — Mark 2:17 NIV. The shepherds (social outcasts) and the Magi (foreigners) were the first to respond because Jesus came for those who knew they needed Him. If you feel flawed, broken, or inadequate, you are precisely who Jesus came to save.

• This Christmas, lay aside any pretense of self-sufficiency and embrace the radical grace offered to those who admit they are "sick."
