Praying With Assurance: Keys to Profit and Progressಮಾದರಿ

CONFIDENCE IS NOT FEELING, IT IS KNOWING
One of the greatest mistakes believers make is to equate spiritual confidence with feelings. You can feel good in prayer and still lack confidence, and you can feel nothing and yet be standing solidly on God’s Word. Feelings are unstable; confidence is anchored on knowledge. John tells us: “And this is the confidence that we have in him, that, if we ask any thing according to his will, he heareth us: and if we know that he hear us, whatsoever we ask, we know that we have the petitions that we desired of him” (1 John 5:14–15). Notice the emphasis is on knowing, not on feeling.
Abraham’s example is striking. Physically, he had no reason to believe—he was about a hundred, Sarah was ninety, and both their bodies were medically dead. Yet Romans 4:20–21 says, “He staggered not at the promise of God through unbelief; but was strong in faith, giving glory to God; and being fully persuaded that what he had promised, he was able also to perform.” His assurance was not in his body’s condition but in God’s unfailing promise. This is how faith functions—knowing God is faithful and fully persuaded He will do as He has said.
When you pray, don’t start monitoring your body, feelings, or mood for results. Anchor yourself in the Word. Assure your heart daily with His promises. Stand your ground like Abraham until persuasion becomes your default. Confidence is not about goose bumps, tears, or excitement; it is the calm certainty that the Almighty cannot lie, cannot fail, and will not deny His Word. That is the foundation of results in prayer.
THOUGHT TO PONDER:
Am I depending on how I feel after prayer, or on what God has promised? How persuaded am I that God cannot fail His Word in my life?
PRAYER:
Lord, help me to shift my confidence from feelings to the unshakable knowledge of Your Word. Persuade my heart daily until I am immovable in faith. Amen.
