House of David, Season 2: Trusting God in the Middle of the Storyಮಾದರಿ

Get Low
When Samuel first found Saul, he was hiding among baggage, hesitant, humble. But once crowned, pride grew. He forgot the throne was never his, it was God’s. Pride hardened his heart, and God opposed him.
David, in contrast, learned to stay low. Not low in shame, but low in surrender. Humility is not thinking less of yourself, but thinking rightly of yourself in light of who God is. When you see His glory, the only sane response is to bow.
Peter reminds us: “God opposes the proud but gives grace to the humble.” To be opposed by God is the scariest reality in Scripture. To be lifted by God is the safest.
Here’s the paradox: the higher you go in God’s kingdom, the lower your posture must be. Crowns are safest at the feet of Jesus. It’s not about low self-esteem. It’s about high God-esteem.
Reflection Question: How is God inviting you to practice humility in a way that shifts the focus off yourself and onto Him?
