Horizon Church August + September Bible Reading Plan - the Gospel in Motion: Luke & Actsಮಾದರಿ

Introduction to the Book of Acts
The Book of Acts continues the story that began in the Gospel of Luke. Written by Luke as a sequel, Acts begins with Jesus’ ascension and traces the birth, growth, and mission of the early Church through the power of the Holy Spirit. It shows how the message of Jesus moved from Jerusalem to Judea, Samaria, and eventually to the ends of the earth (Acts 1:8).
Acts is a book of action, full of miracles, bold preaching, and radical community. It introduces key figures like Peter and Paul, showing how God used ordinary people to do extraordinary things. At the heart of it all is the Holy Spirit, empowering believers to live out the Gospel with courage and clarity.
Acts invites us to live as witnesses—spirit-filled, prayerful, and mission-minded—just as the first followers of Jesus did.

Luke and Acts are two parts of one story, written by Luke to show how Jesus began His work and how it continued through the early Church. Luke tells of Jesus’ life, death, and resurrection, while Acts follows the Spirit-empowered mission of His followers. Together, they reveal God’s plan to bring salvation to all people. As you read, expect to encounter Jesus and be inspired to live boldly for His Kingdom.
