Reflections on the Gospel of Luke

The Gospel of Luke draws us into the compassionate heart of Jesus. From the manger to the cross and the empty tomb, Luke reveals a Saviour who sees the outcast, welcomes the sinner, and dignifies the poor. His parables, healings, and teachings remind us that the Kingdom of God is near and available to all who will humbly receive it.

As you reflect on this Gospel, consider how Jesus’ example challenges and changes you. He calls us not only to believe, but to follow—to welcome the overlooked, to forgive freely, and to live generously. Luke also emphasises the work of the Holy Spirit and prayer, inviting us into a life shaped by spiritual attentiveness and obedience.

Through Luke, we see that Jesus is not just the Messiah for Israel, but for the whole world. His story is one of radical love and redemptive purpose.

Reflection Questions:

  • How has Jesus shown compassion to me personally?
  • What do I learn about God’s heart through Jesus’ interactions in Luke?
  • Where is the Holy Spirit prompting me to act with love, mercy, or courage?
  • In what ways can I make space for prayer and listening to God in my daily life?
