DAY 3 OF 5

DAY 3 – The Power of Pressure

What if the pressure you are experiencing today is not a sign that something is going wrong, but rather, an indication that God is preparing you for something greater?

Why are there seasons in life when, after years of growth and obedience, there still remains a feeling of dissatisfaction and unfulfillment? We expect that over the course of time, things will become easier and experiences will eliminate discomfort. We expect that God’s calling will eventually feel “comfortable.” However, oftentimes, the opposite happens and the further we go, the more God leads us into territories where our preparation is being tested and where pressure becomes inevitable.

In these moments, there is a truth we often forget: pressure is growth.

“Consider it a great joy, my brothers and sisters, whenever you experience various trials, because you know that the testing of your faith produces endurance.” (James 1:2-3, CSB)

While pressure is a space of testing, it is not a test meant to humiliate us, it is a test that strengthens us and produces growth and awareness. When the weight increases, it does not mean we are failing, it means God is calling us to surrender, so that He can complete the work He has called us to do—both in us and through us.

Practical Exercise:
Think of one specific area of your life where you are currently feeling pressure. Take five minutes to sit in silence and meditate on Zechariah 13:9. Then ask God: “Lord, what do You want to refine in me through this trial?”

Prayer:
Lord, thank you that even in seasons of pressure—no matter how difficult—they can become the very times in which You prepare me, refine me, and strengthen me in You. Refine in me whatever does not honor You, and let me come out of this fire with a heart that is steadier, truer, and more like Yours. Amen.
