EquipHer Vol. 25: "Flawed Is the New Flawless"ಮಾದರಿ

DAY 1 – Say: “Yes!”
Have you ever had a big opportunity—an important meeting, presentation, or job interview—and walked away feeling like you just blew it? You walked in with confidence, knowing the pitch and facts inside and out, but it didn’t go exactly how you had planned – it wasn’t perfect. As a result of the mistakes playing on repeat in the forefront of your mind, you find yourself quickly becoming disappointed and perhaps doubtful of being truly qualified for the call or position.
Can you relate?
Our culture emphasizes this correlation between excellence and success. Only the student with the perfect test scores will be a candidate for acceptance. Only the flawless interviewee will be considered for the job. Only the employee who gives two hundred percent will be recognized for the promotion, and the list goes on.
If we are not careful, we get caught up in the distractions of our society (the roles, titles, money, etc), and suddenly, the opinions of the world start ringing true in our minds.
However, we have to remember who our Creator is and what He says about us.
The Bible reminds us that we were formed in the very image and likeness of God:
“So God created man in his own image; he created him in the image of God...” (Genesis 1:27, CSB)
And not only that — it also reveals how we are moldable in His hands, like clay in the hands of a potter who does not discard the imperfect material but works it patiently and intentionally.
“Yet Lord, you are our Father; we are the clay, and you are our potter; we all are the work of your hands.” (Isaiah 64:8, CSB)
We have to remember that He is not asking us to be perfect. He is not asking us to have the perfect answers, resume, bank account, or presentation, but He is looking for us to say "yes" to where He is calling us to go.
Trusting Him is not always easy, but it is what we are required to do. We need to release control and remind ourselves that where we see insecurity and flaws, God sees potential. Where we see limitations, He sees space to move. Where we feel small, He reminds us He is big enough to equip us where we could never go on our own.
We may not feel ready, but the truth is, the only thing God needs from us is our willingness, our “Here I am!” Our imperfect, but willing “yes!” That is the posture of the heart that allows Him to work through us.
Reflective Questions:
- Was there a time when God asked you to step forward, and you hesitated because you felt unqualified?
- What is He asking of you today—and where could you say “yes” even if you do not feel fully ready?
Prayer:
Lord, today I choose to trust You. Even when I feel inadequate, I say “yes” to Your call and make myself fully available. I know You can work even through my limits. Use me, however You want. Amen.
