Who Is He? Who Are We?ნიმუში

Through the resurrection, Jesus is ushering in His kingdom. Through the resurrection, Jesus is ushering in peace. Notice in verses 19 through 21 tells them “peace be with you” and “receive the Holy Spirit”. This is the fulfilment of John 14, where Jesus promises the peace of God and the Spirit of God. Jesus left them with His peace as He went to be crucified and returned to them in that same peace. Jesus then sends His disciples out in the same way that God sent Him, to usher this peace into the world. It is this peace of God that we get to usher into the world as His followers. The strife and divisiveness of sin is conquered. The calling of this section is to go and bring this peace into a world that needs it. So how do we do this? We bring peace in the same way Jesus does: through His presence. Through bringing the presence of God with us, we also bring the peace of God wherever we go. The peace of God surpasses all that we can imagine. It is only through His divine love that we can be brought into this kind of peace. So today, bring peace into the situations you walk into. Be kind to people who hurt you. Diffuse situations that bring chaos. Respond in God’s love and not your own power. Take the time and effort to bring peace wherever you go because it is through Christ’s resurrection that this kind of peace is possible.
