What the Bible Says About Advent - 29 Days of Advent Meditationsნიმუში

Day 9: Peace in God’s Presence
- Verses:
- Psalm 46:10: "Be still, and know that I am God."
- John 16:33: "I have told you these things, so that in me you may have peace."
- Philippians 4:6–7: "The peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts."
- Isaiah 26:3: "You will keep in perfect peace those whose minds are steadfast."
- Exodus 33:14: "My Presence will go with you, and I will give you rest."
- Reflection:
These verses call us to find peace in God’s presence, while Jesus promises that in Him, we have peace, despite life’s troubles. We are assured that God’s peace, beyond understanding, will guards our heart and minds when we pray, and we can, as those who trust God steadfastly have perfect peace and rest in His presence. Advent calls us to pause and dwell in God, letting His peace calm fears and steady hearts, transforming our perspective amid life’s storms. In God’s presence, we find peace that calms our fears and steadies our hearts.
- Application:
- Identify a source of anxiety in your life. How can time in God’s presence bring peace to that area?
- Today, dedicate 10 minutes to silent prayer, focusing on Psalm 46:10.
- Journal about how God’s presence calms your heart.
- Share this peace with someone by inviting them to pray with you or sharing how God’s presence has steadied you in a difficult moment, encouraging them to seek Him.
- Prayer:
Lord, this Advent season, draw me into Your presence, where I can find true peace. In Jesus' name. Amen.
About this Plan

These 29 daily devotionals, created by Dr. Walt Larimore, are structured around the four traditional pre-Christmas Advent candles—Hope, Peace, Joy, and Love and one final devotion for the penultimate Christ candle. Each of the first four weeks focuses on one candle, with seven daily devotions exploring a specific aspect of that theme through Bible verses, a reflection, and a prayer prompt—then, of course, the final Christmas Eve or Christmas Day devotion. All Bible verses are quoted from the NIV, 2011.
