What the Bible Says About Advent - 29 Days of Advent Meditationsნიმუში

Day 12: Peace in Forgiveness
- Verses:
- Matthew 6:14–15: "If you forgive other people when they sin against you, your heavenly Father will also forgive you."
- Colossians 3:13: "Forgive as the Lord forgave you."
- Ephesians 4:32: "Be kind and compassionate to one another, forgiving each other, just as in Christ God forgave you."
- Psalm 32:1: "Blessed is the one whose transgressions are forgiven, whose sins are covered."
- 1 John 1:9: "If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just and will forgive us our sins."
- Reflection:
Forgiveness, both received and extended, cultivates peace in our hearts and relationships. God’s forgiveness through Christ sets us free, and He calls us to mirror that grace to others. Advent reminds us that true peace flows from a heart reconciled to God and others. By letting go of bitterness, we open space for His healing peace to dwell within us. This week let’s embrace and share the forgiveness that brings tranquility to our souls and communities.
- Application:
- Reflect on someone you need to forgive or seek forgiveness from. How can Christ’s forgiveness inspire your actions?
- Today, take one step toward reconciliation, such as a conversation or a written apology.
- Pray for strength to forgive as God has forgiven you.
- Share the peace of forgiveness with someone by discussing its impact on your life, encouraging them to seek or offer forgiveness for their own peace.
- Prayer:
Father, thank You for Your forgiveness. Help me extend that peace to others. In Jesus' name. Amen.
About this Plan

These 29 daily devotionals, created by Dr. Walt Larimore, are structured around the four traditional pre-Christmas Advent candles—Hope, Peace, Joy, and Love and one final devotion for the penultimate Christ candle. Each of the first four weeks focuses on one candle, with seven daily devotions exploring a specific aspect of that theme through Bible verses, a reflection, and a prayer prompt—then, of course, the final Christmas Eve or Christmas Day devotion. All Bible verses are quoted from the NIV, 2011.
