The Ministry Tableნიმუში

Doubt Doesn't Disqualify
Doubt is not the opposite of faith. In fact, it’s often where our faith really begins.
As ministry leaders, we’ve all carried doubts... about ourselves, about our calling, or even about whether or not what we’re doing really matters. And yet, Scripture reminds us that faith isn’t pretending that those doubts don’t exist. Instead, faith is choosing to trust God right in the middle of them.
We see when Peter walks on water, he steps out with trust, even though the storm is very real. And when he began to sink, Jesus reached out and held him up. That's been true in our own journey.
In youth ministry, there have been seasons where fruit was really hard to see, but God was still faithful. And in our church planting journey in New York City, we’ve faced uncertainty and small beginnings, yet Jesus has kept calling us forward. And most recently, in the reality of weakness because of chronic illness, we’ve learned that doubt does not cancel God’s presence. In fact, it’s often where we’ve seen His presence most clearly.
So leaders, if you are wrestling with doubt today, we want to remind you that you are not alone, and you’re certainly not disqualified. So keep stepping out. Keep trusting. The storm may be real...but so is Jesus. And He will not let you sink.

About this Plan

The Ministry Table is a 30-day devotional plan created by and for ministry leaders. Each day, you’ll hear from a different pastor, leader, or ministry practitioner — voices from many churches, traditions, and places — offering encouragement, challenge, and wisdom drawn from their own walk with Jesus. Together, these reflections form a shared table of daily bread: a space where leaders can be fed, strengthened, and reminded that we’re not walking this road alone.
