The Ministry Tableნიმუში

What Are You Looking At?
It sounds like a bully talking to the new kid at school. But seriously, what are you looking at?
Some of us have been looking at things beneath the level God is calling us to. Psalm 121: 1 (NIV) says, “I lift up my eyes to the hills. From where does my help come? My help comes from the Lord…” Your problem is not always what’s around you, it’s what you’re looking at.
Let me make a prophetic declaration of what I believe God is saying to all of us: Eyes up here.
If your focus is off, your faith will be off. Some of you may wonder why you feel stuck, or drained. Maybe it’s because your eyes have been fixed on the wrong feed. And just like Instagram’s algorithm, whatever you keep looking at is what keeps showing up. You keep focusing on discouragement, so discouragement keeps focusing you. You keep focusing on failures, so failures keep focusing on you!
Jesus didn’t just say seek, He said seek first. That means before the strategy meeting, before the Instagram post, before the worship setlist—you seek Him. Ministry will drain you if you make the work your first pursuit instead of His presence.
The Biblical definition of anxiety means to be split in two different places. Matthew 6 reminds us not to split our focus, but to focus first on the kingdom. When your eyes are fixed on the kingdom, the rest, the revelation, and the righteousness from Him will follow.
Elisha prayed for his servant, “Lord, open his eyes that he may see.” And when his eyes were opened, he saw the hills full of horses and chariots of fire. My prayer for you is the same:
Lord, open their eyes. Let them see You before they see the problem.
So today, lift your eyes. Set your mind on things above. Seek His kingdom first, and watch Him add everything else.
God is saying to you: Eyes up here. Everything else will be added unto you. And if He said it, you better believe it!

About this Plan

The Ministry Table is a 30-day devotional plan created by and for ministry leaders. Each day, you’ll hear from a different pastor, leader, or ministry practitioner — voices from many churches, traditions, and places — offering encouragement, challenge, and wisdom drawn from their own walk with Jesus. Together, these reflections form a shared table of daily bread: a space where leaders can be fed, strengthened, and reminded that we’re not walking this road alone.
