30 Days to Confident Faithნიმუში

Devotional:
When Jesus spoke these words, He was preaching the Sermon on the Mount to a crowd filled with ordinary, hardworking people. Many of them lived day to day, uncertain of where their next meal would come from or how they would clothe their families. Their world was filled with anxiety over survival, much like ours today.

Earlier in Matthew 6, Jesus told them not to worry about food, clothing, or tomorrow’s troubles. This wasn’t because their needs weren’t important, but because He wanted them to see the heart of their Father—one who feeds the birds of the air and clothes the flowers of the field with beauty far beyond human effort. If God cared so deeply for creation, how much more would He care for His children?

“Seek first His kingdom and His righteousness” means to prioritize God’s reign and His ways above everything else. In Jesus’ time, this was radical. People were burdened by religious laws and Roman oppression, constantly striving for control. But Jesus flipped their thinking: life isn’t about chasing after provision; it’s about pursuing God, and provision will follow.

I’ve experienced this personally. There were seasons when I was anxious over finances, ministry expenses, or providing for my family. Fear had me making decisions out of worry, but every time I surrendered and chose to “seek Him first”—through prayer, obedience, and trusting His timing—God came through in ways I could never have orchestrated.

Provision isn’t just about money or material needs; it’s about peace, wisdom, and opportunities that flow from trusting Him. When we make His Kingdom our priority, He makes our needs His responsibility.

Am I seeking God’s Kingdom first, or am I seeking security in other things?

Prayer:
Father, thank You for caring about every detail of my life. Teach me to seek Your Kingdom above all else, trusting that You will provide what I need. Help me trade anxiety for faith and striving for surrender. Amen.
