30 Days to Confident Faithნიმუში

Devotional:
The book of Hebrews is one of my favorite books of the Bible to read when I need a reminder of what true faith looks like. It’s a letter filled with both deep theology and practical encouragement—a call to hold fast to Jesus even in times of hardship. Though the exact author of Hebrews is debated, many scholars believe it was written by someone close to Paul, or perhaps another early church leader like Apollos or Barnabas. Regardless of who penned it, Hebrews was written to Jewish Christians who were suffering persecution, tempted to return to their old ways, and wrestling with fear about following Jesus. The writer’s purpose was to anchor them in the truth that Jesus is greater than everything they left behind.
Hebrews 13:6 is tucked into the final chapter—a series of practical instructions and encouragements after chapters filled with reminders of who Christ is: our High Priest, our Sacrifice, our Mediator, and our Hope. This verse is a declaration of confidence, echoing Psalm 118:6:“The LORD is with me; I will not be afraid. What can mere mortals do to me?” It’s a bold statement that reminds us of something vital: true confidence is not built on circumstances, approval, or comfort. It’s built on knowing the One who never leaves us.
I remember a time in my life when fear felt paralyzing. My mind was filled with “what if” questions:What if I fail? What if they reject me? What if I’m not enough? I was stepping into something I knew God had called me to do, yet those thoughts whispered louder than my faith. That’s when God led me to verses like this one. The Holy Spirit reminded me thatfear is always a liar, but God is always faithful.
I had to shift from focusing on thewhat ifs to standing on God’swhat IS.His promises are not hypothetical; they’re unshakable truths. He is my helper. He is with me. He has gone before me. And because of that, no rejection, opinion, or fear could derail His plan. Confidence is not about personality; it’s about posture—a spiritual stance that says,“My God is with me, so I will not be afraid.”
Maybe today you feel like fear is louder than your faith. Maybe you’ve been replaying every worst-case scenario in your mind. Let this verse be your declaration:The Lord is my helper; I will not fear. Write it down. Speak it out loud. Confidence doesn’t come from being fearless; it comes from trusting the One who is greater than fear.
Thought to Ponder:
Where have I looked for confidence outside of God’s promises?
Prayer:
Lord, anchor my confidence in You, not in myself. Help me to walk boldly in faith, trusting Your promises over my fears. Silence every “what if” with the truth ofwhat is.You are my helper. You are with me. You are faithful. Amen.
