30 Days to Confident Faith

DAY 25 OF 30

Devotional:
Jeremiah 29:11 is often quoted as a feel-good promise, but its context makes it even more powerful. Jeremiah delivered this word to Israel while they were exiled in Babylon—a foreign land where they felt abandoned, defeated, and far from home. This wasn’t a promise of instant rescue; it was a declaration of hope in the middle of a long season of waiting. In fact, the chapter reveals that God told them they would remain in exile for 70 years (Jeremiah 29:10).

Imagine how shocking that sounded to them. They longed for immediate deliverance, but God was calling them to trust His timing, settle where they were, and believe that His plans were still good. He wasn’t punishing them—He was refining them, preparing them for restoration.

This verse reminds us that God’s definition of “good plans” doesn’t always mean quick solutions or a pain-free path. It means a plan rooted in eternal hope, growth, and transformation. Even when life feels like exile—when you’re in a season you didn’t choose—God is working behind the scenes to bring about His perfect will.

His promises aren’t canceled by your circumstances. Even when your journey feels long, His plans for you are still good.

Thought to Ponder:
Am I willing to trust God’s timing and plan, even when I can’t see the full picture yet?

Prayer:
Lord, thank You for being faithful even in seasons of waiting. Help me trust that Your plans are always good, even when life feels uncertain. Teach me to find hope in Your promises while I wait on Your timing. Amen.
