THRIVE

DAY 6 OF 6

Encounter

As we conclude the THRIVE acronym with E standing for "Encounter," the focus today is on drawing ourselves near to God.

He wants to draw near to you. He longs to draw near to you. We must take ownership through the latter part of that verse and repent, which means to turn from the patterns, the habits, the decisions we make that hold us back from stepping into all he is calling us to become.

Repenting can be as simple or as hard as we make it. Simply put, it means to turn from the old and turn into something new. When we let go of the old we have the ability to grab onto the new and cling to the things that are good!

Now think about drawing for a minute. When you draw a picture of yourself as a kid and you’re like, "How did I end up drawing that?" Are you proud of it? Are we appalled by it? What about our lives? What have we drawn in our lives where we are right now? Are we proud of it?

Be honest with yourself. Honesty is the first step to overcoming and building a fresh start of intimacy with yourself, God and others. Honesty is cleansing. Our sin nature is to be double-minded, to be a unclean and impure. We must recognize that we were bought at a price by the blood of Jesus and that we encounter the Living God! Don’t take this lightly, make a decision this year to consecrate that time to encounter His presence. Remember in His presence is the fullness of joy. We must actively choose to be in His presence.

Prayer:

Father,

Thank you that in your presence is the fullness of joy! Help me to encounter your presence and seek your face each day and not get overwhelmed by the cares and fleeting worries and desires of the world. I want to know you deeper and partner with you to Thrive in every aspect of the life you have given me.

In Jesus' Name, Amen!
