YES!!!

DAY 1 OF 7

Day 1: Your Encounter:

Welcome to Day 1 of this devotional journey! Over the next seven days, we’ll explore what it means to live fully aligned with God’s call—saying “Yes!!!” to His voice, His timing, and His purpose for your life. Today, we begin where every life of faith truly begins: with an encounter.

Have you ever had a moment that marked you—deep in your spirit—where something shifted, and you knew you couldn’t go back to the way things were?

That’s the power of an encounter with God. It’s more than a passing feeling. It’s more than goosebumps during worship or tears during prayer. An encounter is when God’s presence meets you in such a personal and undeniable way that everything changes. Your perspective shifts. Your desires realign. Your priorities are reoriented. And most importantly—your heart responds.

But here’s the truth: not everyone who encounters God is changed. Because every encounter demands a response. God can stir the heart, reveal His love, convict, speak, move—but He will not override your will. He calls. You choose.

The invitation is simple and weighty at the same time: Say "yes".

Yes to His leading. Yes to His voice. Yes to His grace. Yes to His plans.

Scripture is full of people who said, “Yes,” to God and were never the same again. Jacob, after a lifetime of striving and manipulating, found himself wrestling all night with a mysterious man—God in human form. He cried out, “I will not let You go unless You bless me!” (Genesis 32:26, NKJV). That was a turning point. Jacob’s name—and his identity—changed that night. Why? Because he encountered God and refused to walk away the same.

That same hunger is still required today.

We often want the blessing without the wrestle. We want the change without the surrender. But real encounters with God are disruptive. They interrupt our patterns, expose our shallow foundations, and invite us to build our lives on something unshakable.

God has more for you than you can imagine. The Bible says in 1 Corinthians 2:9 (NKJV), “Eye has not seen, nor ear heard, nor have entered into the heart of man the things which God has prepared for those who love Him.” That verse isn’t just poetic—it’s prophetic. There are things God has prepared specifically for you that are beyond anything your senses have ever experienced or your heart has dared to dream.

But you won’t walk into those things by accident. You’ll walk into them by choice.

That choice begins with saying “yes” to God—not just once, but again and again. It’s the daily posture of a surrendered life. And it’s not always easy.

Saying yes doesn’t mean your story will be perfect. There will be seasons when you fall short, when fear creeps in, when your faith feels fragile. But hear this: There is no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus—none at all (Romans 8:1, paraphrased). Your past failures don’t disqualify you from future obedience. Your mistakes don’t cancel out your mission.

God’s love for you isn’t fragile. It doesn’t waver when you do. The apostle Paul declared in Romans 8:38-39 (NKJV), “For I am persuaded that neither death nor life, nor angels nor principalities nor powers . . . shall be able to separate us from the love of God which is in Christ Jesus our Lord.” That means your brokenness can’t separate you. Your doubts can’t separate you. Your unworthiness—real or imagined—can’t separate you.

God’s love is the steady backdrop of every encounter you’ll ever have with Him. You may experience it first in conviction, or in comfort, or in calling—but underneath it all is a deep, unwavering, pursuing love that won’t let go.

So the question becomes: What is God inviting you into today?

Maybe it’s a conversation you’ve been avoiding. A step of faith you’ve been delaying. A sin you’ve been justifying. A purpose you’ve been running from. Or maybe it’s simply the next layer of surrender—to say yes to Him in an area you’ve kept off-limits.

Don’t ignore that nudge. Don’t dismiss that stirring. The Holy Spirit may be drawing you into something that feels uncertain, but He’s trustworthy. He’s not trying to trap you—He’s trying to bless you.

Your encounter with God might not come in a church service. It might come in your kitchen, or your car, or your journal. Wherever it happens, when you sense His presence and hear His whisper, don’t wait. Don’t put it off. Don’t say, “Maybe tomorrow.”

Say "yes".

Yes to the wrestle. Yes to the unknown. Yes to being changed. Yes to the kind of encounter that doesn’t just make you feel something—but remakes everything.

Because your “yes” really can change everything.
