What is something that you are discovering about yourself? Maybe it's a talent, new skill, or passion that brings you joy. What is awesome about being a teenager is you are getting to discover all this stuff, find a group of friends, and learn about ways you can influence those around you and become a leader.
While we may look to other people for guidance on how to lead, David points out in Psalm 25:4–5 that it’s important to seek God’s wisdom as we lead. God wants to influence the way you lead and serve others by using your skills and passion to do so.
Through this verse, we are reminded that leadership is not about gaining more power or achieving these big goals. Instead, it is about learning to trust God as he leads you and finding ways to use your skills, passions, and talents to serve others.
As we follow God's way of leadership, we learn that leadership is a skill we never fully attain because we're always learning new ways to lead and serve others. We learn the importance of listening to others, seeking advice from people we trust, and being patient in the process of learning to lead. While we may get great insights from others, we grow in our capacity to lead when we recognize that God is the best leader.
