This verse is a powerful reminder of the importance of service and sacrifice in the life of a man of faith. The world’s culture for alpha men demands we strive for success and recognition, seeking to make our mark on the world through our achievements and accomplishments. Yet Jesus, the ultimate example of manhood, demonstrated a different way of living. He did not come to be served, but to serve, putting the needs of others before his own and ultimately giving his life for the salvation of many. As followers of Christ, we are called to emulate his example of service and sacrifice in our own lives. This may involve serving our families, our communities, or even those who are in need around the world. It may require us to set aside our own ambitions and desires in order to prioritize the needs of others. This kind of service and sacrifice can be difficult, requiring humility, selflessness, and a willingness to put the needs of others first. So today, let us be reminded of the words of Mark 10:45 and the example of Jesus Christ.
