Triumphing over flesh and sin

GIORNO 3 DI 7

## I can follow the Holy Spirit When a dog is well trained, he walks close to his master, as if he had a leash. The reason is that he has worn a short leash until he integrates it into his thinking. Then, even if the leash is removed, he stays close to his master. When you turned to Jesus, you changed masters. If sin dominated you and kept you a slave, you now have God as your master. If sin compelled you by its power, it is now up to you to voluntarily decide to follow Jesus. You must understand that Jesus broke your chain, the chain that kept you a slave to sin (Rom 6:18). It is now up to you to choose to obey, no longer to the desires of sin (which no longer has the power to force you to obey it), but to the invitations of the Holy Spirit who leads you in righteousness (Rom 6:12-14). A bit like this dog who would decide to follow another master: he can, because he is no longer restrained by the leash. I invite you to make this statement aloud: Jesus, I consecrate my body and my whole life to Your righteousness, I submit to Your word and to Your Spirit. Holy Spirit, lead me, I want to follow you.
