The Good Enough MomSýnishorn

Guilt is my ultimate nemesis. There have been days when guilt was piggy-backing my every move. A spirit of perfectionism was the culprit. It is impossible to see all the things you are doing well when the voice of guilt continually lingers in your head.
Romans 8:1 was a verse I knew but was far from living out in my life. As a Christian, my state of being is "not guilty" because God has declared me "not guilty" regardless of my feelings.
By putting to death the spirit of perfectionism, I began to listen to the voice of the Holy Spirit telling me, "I am pleased with you." When I started listening to that voice, above the lies of guilt, it was like a fresh breeze blowing through my soul.
The weight of false guilt often masquerades as conviction, creating a burden that God never intended for His beloved daughters to carry. Learning to distinguish between the Holy Spirit's gentle guidance toward growth and the enemy's condemning accusations becomes essential for maintaining both spiritual health and effective motherhood.
Reflection Question: How can you distinguish between God's gentle conviction that leads to growth and the false guilt that brings condemnation?
