Simple Prayer: How to Pray Like Jesus

DAY 5 OF 25

Father

The Father Who is King

Read: Psalm 89
"He will call out to me, ‘You are my Father, my God, the Rock my Saviour.’" (Psalm 89:26 NIV)

Devotional Thought:
Psalm 89 celebrates God’s faithfulness and kingship. He is both loving Father and sovereign King. When we pray “Our Father,” we address the one who reigns with justice and mercy—and invites us into his kingdom purposes.

Reflection Activity:
Think of one place in your life—or in the world—where you long for God’s rule to come.

  • Write a short prayer declaring God’s kingship over that area.
  • Breath Prayer: Inhale: “Father, you reign…”
    Exhale: “…let your kingdom come.”

Prayer Practice: Ongoing Conversation
As you see the news, walk through your neighborhood, or encounter challenges today, pause and pray, “Father, let your kingdom come here.”

Prayer:
Father, you are my King. You rule with justice and love. Reign in my heart and in this world. Help me to live as part of your kingdom today. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
