Simple Prayer: How to Pray Like Jesus

DAY 13 OF 25

We Need You

The Kingdom is for the Humble

Read: Psalm 145:8–21
"The Lord is near to all who call on him, to all who call on him in truth." (Psalm 145:18 NIV)

Devotional Thought:
God’s kingdom is not built on worldly power and pride, but on humility and trust. Psalm 145 describes a God who lifts up the lowly, satisfies the hungry, and draws near to those who call on Him. In Jesus, we see this kingdom in action—welcoming the poor, the broken, and the humble. To pray, “Your kingdom come,” is to ask for a heart that aligns with His—one that trusts in His provision and lives in dependence on Him.

Reflection Activity – Prayer Walk:
Take a prayer walk around your neighbourhood or a nearby public space. As you walk, pray quietly for the people, homes, schools, and businesses you pass. Invite God’s kingdom to come in these places and for people to experience His nearness.

Prayer:
Father, I let go of my pride and self-sufficiency. I want to live in your kingdom with a heart that trusts and depends on you. Be near to me as I call on you. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
