Beatitudes in BusinessSýnishorn

"Not only that—count yourselves blessed every time people put you down or throw you out or speak lies about you to discredit me. What it means is that the truth is too close for comfort and they are uncomfortable. You can be glad when that happens—give a cheer, even!—for though they don’t like it, I do! And all heaven applauds. And know that you are in good company. My prophets and witnesses have always gotten into this kind of trouble." — Matthew 5:11-12 (MSG)
YOU ARE HIGHLY FAVORED BY GOD.
That truth can be hard to embrace, especially in a world that feels volatile, uncertain, and ever-changing. But no matter what you’re facing today, know this—Jesus sees you, He is near, and He delights in you.
The Beatitudes are just the beginning of the greatest sermon Jesus ever preached. At first glance, Matthew 5-7 seems to flip our usual way of thinking upside down. But in reality, Jesus isn’t calling us to a lesser life. He’s inviting us into the fullest, most complete version of ourselves.
In His sermon, Jesus reminds us:
You offer more than you think because you are more than you can imagine.
The world tries to shrink our worth to a job title, a performance review, or a fleeting achievement. It tells us:
- "You're too much."
- "You’re not enough."
- "You have to work harder to belong."
But Jesus says the opposite:
- "You are just right because I made you."
- "You are worthy of love."
- "You already belong."
God’s Kingdom is upside down from the world’s values. While the world celebrates wealth, power, and popularity, the Kingdom of God lifts up the overlooked, the weary, and the struggling. In the workplace, it may seem like success belongs to those who appear to have it all together, but God’s Kingdom belongs to those who recognize their deep need for Him.
And when you meet resistance? It often means you’re living out truth—and truth makes people uncomfortable.
Before Jesus went to the cross, He left His disciples with this encouragement:
"I have told you all this so that you may have peace in me. Here on earth you will have many trials and sorrows. But take heart, because I have overcome the world." John 16:33
Jesus has already overcome the world, and His peace is found on the narrow path He calls us to walk.
So today, show up as the highly favored child of God that you are.
Lead with both confidence and humility.
Remember that your worth isn’t defined by your career—it’s anchored in Christ.
Let this truth shape how you respond to challenges and opportunities. Speak with kindness, act with integrity, and encourage those around you—especially those who feel unseen. Step into difficult moments with boldness, knowing that you carry God’s favor wherever you go.
