Beatitudes in Business

DAY 6 OF 9

"You’re blessed when you get your inside world—your mind and heart—put right. Then you can see God in the outside world." — Matthew 5:8 (MSG)

We are all in the process of "becoming." None of us have arrived. As image bearers, we are seekers of light in a world often darkened by confusion, striving, and doubt.

When we surrender to God’s grace, He begins His most profound transformation within us. The distractions that once consumed us begin to fade, and He reshapes how we think, see, and operate in the world.

Yet, the world tells us a different story. It prioritizes appearance, status, success, and achievement, convincing us that our worth is measured by how hard we strive and how impressive we appear.

GOD’S FAVOR RESTS ON YOU, giving you a new lens of success.

  • Where we’ve strived for worldly success, God emboldens us with integrity.
  • Where we’ve sought approval or risked people-pleasing to protect our reputation, God offers purpose and a bigger vision.
  • When fear and doubt threaten our perspective, God invites us to trust in His power and provision, deepening our faith.

A New Vision for Work

When God transforms our inner world, He redefines our work. It’s no longer just a job, a paycheck, or a means to make a name for ourselves. Work becomes a partnership with our Caller—a way to live out our calling for His glory.

As Arianna Molloy points out in her book Healthy Calling, our calling isn’t just about what we do—it’s about who we are in relationship with our Caller. And this relationship shapes not only our personal growth but also how we serve and impact our communities.

God, the originator of our calling, expands our vision of success. He purifies, transforms, and restores our hearts piece by piece, reorienting our goals in a world that often feels disorienting. The key to staying grounded? Keeping our focus on Him.

When we center ourselves on our Caller, He guides us in the calling He has invited us into.

Are You Leading from Inner Clarity or External Pressure?

Pause and reflect: What drives your leadership and work?

  • Is it the world’s definition of success, or is it God’s vision?
  • Are you striving to achieve, or are you seeking to serve?
  • Is your motivation rooted in fear and pressure, or in trust and integrity?

This week, take five minutes each day to center your heart before stepping into work. Pray, reflect, or journal about how you can align your motivations with God’s purpose, so you lead and work with integrity.
