Recover From Sexual BetrayalMinta
Be Renewed by God’s Word
Ten steps forward and a few steps back. That is pretty typical for any of us walking through life and healing, whether it is a perpetual cycle of some stronghold in our lives or whether it is battling our thoughts as we pursue a new path.
Ephesians 6:12 paints a good picture of where the battle is for us. It is not from ourselves, nor is it from each other, but rather from powers and spiritual forces of wickedness in the heavenly places. Our enemy's only desire is that we become defeated and depleted. He is full of deception and throws his fiery darts of deceit directly at our mind. Jesus himself called the Devil: The father of lies. We, however, are made new by the renewing of our mind and the cleansing of God's Word. There is no greater weapon against the lies of the enemy than the truth of God's Word.
When you start to feel downcast, hopeless, or full of despair, call on the One who will tell you the truth about yourself, your future, and those you love. Instead of becoming a prisoner of the father of lies, return to your God and become a prisoner of Hope! Find life in the Scriptures.
Prayer: Father, I thank you that you have come to rescue me from despair and brokenness. I thank you for your Word that gives me hope and promises of your goodness towards me and prepares me to be on guard, ready to counteract the lies of the enemy with the Sword of your Spirit which is your Word. In Jesus' name, Amen.
