11. NAP A(Z) 31-BÓL/-BŐL

October 11 Introduction Today’s reading begins with a cry for God’s help, followed by a warning about how the LORD’s power will be unleashed on sinful people. Jerusalem’s glorious future is described, and a righteous king will rule the land. Today’s Scripture Reading Isaiah 33:1-24 Today’s Key Verse:  Isaiah 33:23b The LORD himself will be our king; he will rule over us and protect us. Reflect Why is God’s judgment compared to “a fire that burns forever” (verse 14)? What does God say people are to do in order to survive such judgment (verses 15, 16)?  How is Jerusalem’s glorious future described (verses 17-24)? How do you envision what is described in these verses? Pray Lord God, You are my king. Reign in my heart forever. You are like a fortress, and in You I am safe and secure. All who worship and praise You are shown Your glory. Thank You for Your mercy and steadfast love. In Jesus' Name. Amen. Prayer Concern Those in positions of power Tomorrow’s Reading Isaiah 34:1-17: God’s enemies will be punished.
