100 Days of HopeEgzanp

Knowing Who I Am
For a long time I battled with fear, fear of the unknown and fear of terrible things happening to me or to my loved ones. Literally imprisoned by fear to the extent that I would create terrible “what if” stories in my head, I began to live in fear of those things coming true. This was until I realized that the reason I was afraid was because I did not know who I was in Christ. I now find comfort in the knowledge that I have received the Spirit of sonship, which makes me an heir with Christ, giving me a spirit of power and of love—not a spirit of fear.
Since we are heirs with Christ who has overcome, we have also overcome. Many times we find ourselves in very difficult situations, situations that appear hopeless and bring fear into our lives. While being afraid is natural, the knowledge we have received a Spirit of sonship from our Father who carries out His Word gives us strength. God did not promise us a trouble-free life, but He promised the grace to live through the troubles.
Prayer: Father, thank you that you have given us an inheritance. Give us the faith to live in a spirit of power and love today.
