Are You a Prophet?
You may be wondering if you are called to the office of a prophet or to be a believer who speaks as God moves upon them. What I have come to realize throughout my years as a prophetic minister is that whether you are a prophetic believer or functioning in the role of a prophet, there are characteristics that we all share. Prophetic people are the same all over the world. Every nation has them. Every city has them. Every region has them. They exist in every generation. You are not alone. You are a part of a global company of prophets. The same things grieve them, stir them, give them joy, and cause them to weep.
In prophets we see many sides to God’s heart—compassion, hatred of sin and unrighteousness, holiness, grief, encouragement, power, joy, zeal, and so on. Prophets carry within them the heart of the Father. They feel what the Father feels at different times. This can be a difficult thing for prophets to learn to handle. They can feel as if they are on an emotional roller coaster. Don’t fret, prophet, and don’t be confused. You are special. You carry within you the heartbeat of God.
