All The Way

In preparation for this devotional, I find myself reflecting on the acts contained within the verses and what my own responses would be.

I encourage you to read over, or listen to, Acts 12 and reflect on these questions for yourself… give the Holy Spirit time to speak to you and then learn from the wisdom shared in this passage.

Herod, "when he saw that it pleased the Jews, he proceeded to have Peter arrested as well" (Acts 12:3a AMP). What am I doing to please people around me? Is this God’s best for me? Whose voice am I listening to? What am I stuck in? What am I praying to be free from? Has God already set me free? Am I really listening for God’s answers to my prayers, to the people God has placed in my world? My answer to prayer can come through them, but am I humble enough to acknowledge/hear that?

"Recognizing Peter’s voice, in her joy she failed to open the gate, but ran in and announced that Peter was standing in front of the gateway" (Acts 12:14 AMP). Go ALL THE WAY… "Starting is not most people’s problem, staying, continuing, and finishing is," shares Darren Hardy. In my enthusiasm to celebrate a win, have I left something "outside the gate?" Have I only gone halfway? Have I been distracted?

Today is a new day, full of new mercies. As you roll around these questions, I pray that you ask questions of your own, digging deeper into the truth God has for you in these acts.
