If we want to honor other people, then the way we treat them has to be based in humility. Humility means we think about the needs and interests of others before our own. But this isn’t just in how we treat others; it’s in how we let others treat us. 

A person who is honoring us the way God calls them to is someone who is considering our needs, listening to what’s best for us, and paying attention to what we say we want rather than just what they want. That’s humility, and that’s the way God wants us all to be treated.

If there’s someone in your life who doesn’t treat you this way, talk to your small group leader, or a trusted adult, about taking a step to make a change in that relationship.
