Maybe you read that verse and think it sounds nice, but it hasn’t been your experience with God. To you, God seems to be playing a game of hide and seek where the rules are always changing. And that feeling of not being able to “find” God when you’re trying? Well, that’s frustrating!

So, what if you tried something new? If God feels hard to find in the ways you are used to looking for Him, try a different approach. Play your favorite worship song and sit quietly, thinking on the words you hear. Take a walk outside and pay attention to what you see around you. Close your eyes, take 10 deep breaths, and just be still. 

Just because it may feel like God is playing hide and seek, He’s not. Don’t give up looking for Him in new ways. When you do, you may be surprised by what you learn about yourself and Him in the process. How does knowing that God won’t play hide and seek change the way you see Him? Ask a Small Group Leader or trusted adult what they think it means to seek the Lord with all your heart and all your soul.
