We’ve all been through painful situations. Maybe you felt down because you didn’t make the team, or maybe your friends started gossiping about you at school, or maybe you lost someone you loved. Whatever the situation, when we’re in it, we wish we had help, don’t we? Sometimes we think we have to wait for help to come to us, but this verse reminds us that there’s a step we can take to help ourselves. We can go to God. And when we do, He promises to be near to us—to help us through whatever we’re facing. This week, talk to your Small Group Leader, parent, or a trusted friend about what it looks like to draw near to God.
