Headwinds
Matthew 14:22-36
“…Jesus made the disciples get into the boat and go on ahead of him to the other side…the wind was against it…Peter got down out of the boat, walked on the water and came toward Jesus. But when he saw the wind, he was afraid…when they climbed into the boat, the wind died down.”
Jesus deliberately put his disciples into a high winds experience to test or expose their faith. When we face headwinds that oppose our forward progress and we feel like we are going nowhere, we still have choices. We can give up and let the wind take us, or we get out of the boat and walk toward Jesus.
Where is Jesus in our storm?
Finding Jesus and moving toward him is the key to overcoming. When Peter saw the wind he was afraid. Fear is a product of whom or what we are focusing on when facing headwinds. Fixing our eyes on Jesus changes everything. Every wind will die down, and when it does our faith will be stronger.
Jesus, my eyes are on you and your grace in every storm.
