Daily Devotions With Jonathan FalwellEgzanp

Have you ever been really tempted to do something that you knew was not a good idea, but something you truly wanted to do?
It’s a difficult situation especially when it is of importance. Physical temptations are probably the easiest to identify. When Jesus was in the wilderness for 40 days, He was fasting the entire time and since He was in a human body, He was tired and hungry. So the devil simply said “ if you are the Son of God, turn those stones into bread.” And Jesus could have! As a matter of fact, not too long after this, Jesus multiplied a few loaves of bread and a few fish into enough to feed thousands. This tactic is how Satan tempts us today. He appeals to our normal, very real physical needs and appetites. He chatters, “After all, God made you this way, so you have no choice but to give in and fulfill your desires.” NO! Absolutely not, Jesus said, “Man shall not live by bread alone”, meaning the physical is not the most important thing in life. Eternal needs should always be our priority. Satan wants us to fulfill our normal needs in abnormal ways, but you are made in the image of God!
Through the Holy Spirit the power to resist the devil. By His power, you can resist any temptations!
