David’s Revelation of God’s mercy and love is unique because it comes in the middle of the Mosaic context. Perhaps David has modeled his faith after Abraham’s, who had a real relationship with God. While the Law restricts access to God, David only understands God as someone approachable. David will institute a musical, devotional revival that fosters a tradition of psalm-writing and singing in Israel.
