Expect a story

In the Bible, poor and humble people are lifted high. The "dirty" shepherds in the fields at night are the first to be told about the Christ Child. They find the baby wrapped in a blanket, lying in a manger (a cow’s food trough). The message for us is to look among the poor to see God at work in the world.

In May last year, Cyclone Mora hit Bangladesh, India and Nepal. Monsoon rain triggered catastrophic floods and mudslides, claiming more than 900 lives and leaving many homeless. 

Nilu, her husband, Kor, and their two young boys were sleeping when the rains came. The water swirled around them and woke them in the middle of the night, rising higher and higher until they feared for their lives.

Throughout the rest of this Advent Plan we will tell the story of Nilu and her family. You'll see how Nilu’s story unfolds and how we can expect the extraordinary from our God, who loves us so much, even in the hardest times.
