Honor God With Your Relationships: Living in reality, not fantasy It is not only men who indulge in risky or destructive fantasies. Women do too. Some women want a home and family so badly that they set up housekeeping with a guy and pretend to be married. They will put up with all kinds of abuse, because as bad as it is, they fear being alone even more. Some women cannot resist the fantasy that their love (or charm or determination) will “rescue” or domesticate a bad boy. To their great sadness, it turns out that bad boys generally don’t want to be reformed. Here is God’s view: “Do not be yoked together with unbelievers. For what do righteousness and wickedness have in common?” (2 Corinthians 6:14). How can you tell if you are living a fantasy or in reality? Humble yourself. Listen to God. Listen to your family. Listen to your Christian friends.
