Testimony Of Integrity

I recently had seamless gutters installed on my house. The seams on our previous gutters were leaking when it rained, the water seeping into the basement through a small crack in our concrete foundation.

To install new gutters, I hired a man who had done work for us previously since we had been very satisfied with his work. To assist him, he brought along another man who had also done excellent work for us.

After they completed the front gutters, I went upstairs as they were working on the gutter on the back of the house. They were not aware I was there, but I overheard them talking about something that they were having difficulty removing from the previous gutter.

Already having tried several techniques, the men could have easily given up. Instead, after agreeing together on another option to try, they went back to their truck, got another tool, and climbed the ladder once again. Sure enough, with this tool, they were able to grind off the dissatisfactory area.

Listening to the integrity with which these men did their job, I was so blessed. Only the Lord would have heard their decision, if He hadn’t given me the opportunity to hear it myself.

If that weren’t enough, some of the materials from the gutter dropped on our deck, and I watched one of them hook up our garden hose to rinse it off the deck, while the other man did a complete walk around our house to make sure they hadn’t left anything. He even took a towel to any spot where they left dirty hand prints on the new gutter.

What testimony can I give if someone were to watch my work habits today?

Prayer: Father, may the little, mundane decisions we make at work and at home be full of your grace and power. Help our lives to be a testimony to you today.
