Most Likely to . . .Primjer

Have you ever made a promise you didn't keep? Maybe you've seen someone run for student council on a platform of pizza parties every day and less homework. But once they won, they found out that following through on that promise would be harder than they thought. Unfortunately, we see leaders break their promises way too often. When Jesus taught his disciples, he knew this could be a challenge for them, so he showed them how to be different.

Jesus once told a story about a father who asked his two sons to do some work for him. At first, one son refused, but then he ended up going out to do what his father said. The other son said he was all in, but never actually did the work. Jesus said the son who changed his mind was the one who pleased his father, even though he protested at first.

Part of following Jesus is following through on what God asks. It isn't about saying the right thing in the moment before we run off and play video games all night. If we say we'll do something, then we should do it. Whether or not we realize it, all of us are leaders who are most likely to change the world in meaningful ways. We each have influence, and we can choose to rely on Jesus and follow his example. We can strive to keep our promises whenever we make them because great leaders follow through.
