"Sign the Contract"

Today’s scripture follows the rebuke of Jesus to Peter for setting his mind on things of man and not on things of God. Jesus said Peter was being a hindrance or a stumbling block. Ouch! That must have hurt! Jesus had been explaining His upcoming sufferings and death and Peter would not accept this word from Jesus. They understood Jesus to be the Christ and how could this happen to Him? Are we like Peter in that we do not accept God’s will in our lives? A first key point from Pastor’s message was, “We are not allowed to come to God on our own terms, we must come to Him on His terms.” When we sign contracts or legal binding documents such as for housing, utilities, phone service, internet agreements, etc., we sign an agreement to the terms and conditions stated on the document. We can do no less to agree to Jesus’ terms when we accept His salvation. He is our Savior and soon Coming King!


Jesus we claim You as Lord and Savior of our lives. We agree to Your terms and conditions for our lives. Thank you for calling me out of darkness and into Your marvelous light. Thank You for redeeming me with Your precious blood. Let me not be a stumbling block to Your will being done.
