Suffering For Doing Right  

They say that no good deed goes unpunished. So have you ever been punished for doing the right thing? How do you respond when you suffer injustice? 1 Peter 2:20 says that if you patiently suffer for doing good then God is pleased, which leads to the next question: How can that possibly be? 

LIFE APPLICATION QUESTIONS 

• We know with our heads that life just isn’t fair. But there’s a difference between knowing it and experiencing it! How do you explain the fact that life isn’t fair when its Creator is a God of justice?
• When was the last time you suffered an injustice? How did you react to it – with howls of protest, quiet resentment… or patience and grace? 
• How can you follow Jesus’ example of enduring injustice with patience, not protest?
• Spend some time in prayer, asking God to help you follow in Jesus’ footsteps when injustice inevitably comes your way. Ask for His wisdom and strength to endure.
