Mark became the subject of a controversy (see Acts 13:13) and caused such a dispute that Paul and Barnabas eventually parted ways for a time (Acts 15:36–41). Paul later requested Mark’s company and said, “[Mark] is helpful to me in my ministry” (2_Timothy 4:11), indicating an eventual reconciliation.
