May Devotional

DAY 17 OF 31

May 17 – Meditating on the Word/Scripture

Meditation on the Word involves deep reflection and continual engagement with Scripture. It is the process of thinking through, speaking, and internalising God’s Word until it becomes part of one’s thinking.

This matters because understanding grows through meditation. It moves the Word from information to revelation. Meditation allows Scripture to shape thoughts and influence behaviour.

When meditation is neglected, understanding remains shallow. The Word is heard but not retained, read but not internalised. This leads to weak application and limited growth.

DAILY EXERCISE
Select one verse.
Repeat it, think on it, and write what it means to you throughout the day.

PRAYER
Father, teach me to meditate on Your Word. Let the Scriptures fill my thoughts and shape my understanding. I pray for believers, families, students, and leaders across Nigeria that they will grow through meditation on Your Word. Lord, we ask that across nations, Your Word will dwell richly in people. Strengthen the Church worldwide through deep engagement with Scripture.

CONFESSION
I meditate on God’s Word daily. It fills my mind and shapes my life.

READING BIBLE PLAN (RBP):
Day 17: Luke 5–7
Look out for: The call to follow Jesus; miracles that build faith; obedient response.

About this Plan

May Devotional

This devotional is a structured journey into understanding and living by the Scriptures, its authority, reliability, and its central message on Christ. It also explores the purpose of the Scripture as a guide for doctrine, correction, and spiritual growth. This is a call for practical application, and an encouragement to actively reflect God’s Word in our daily decisions and actions.
