When God Seems Late

DAY 4 OF 6

When Your Faith Mixes with Frustration – Day 4

Sometimes our prayer sounds like this: “Lord, I trust You… but why aren’t You acting?” It’s a mix of faith and frustration—and that also reaches heaven.

“Lord,” Martha said to Jesus, “if you had been here, my brother would not have died. But I know that even now God will give you whatever you ask.”
(John 11:21–22, NIV)

What a beautiful contradiction—pain and hope in the same sentence. Jesus didn’t rebuke her for doubting; He used that moment to strengthen her faith.

Elijah went through something similar. After defeating the prophets of Baal, he became so exhausted that he asked to die (1 Kings 19). God didn’t punish him—He fed him. He gave him bread, water, and rest.

That’s how God acts—He doesn’t judge your emotions; He restores you in the middle of them. In daily life, it’s like a father embracing a crying child who doesn’t understand. The hug doesn’t answer all the questions, but it soothes the soul.

If you’re tired, confused, or hurting today, don’t run from God—run to Him. Faith doesn’t deny what you feel; it brings it to the One who can heal you.

Talk with God and open your heart:

Lord, sometimes my faith mixes with fatigue and frustration. Thank You for not rejecting me but understanding me. Restore my strength and teach me to trust You even with a broken heart. Amen.

Think about this:
What emotions are you holding back that you could give to God today?
Can you believe that even in your doubts, He’s still working on your behalf?

Coming up on Day 5: When You Compare Your Story to Others
Tomorrow we’ll learn that your process isn’t like anyone else’s—but God’s purpose always arrives.

About this Plan

When God Seems Late

Sometimes we pray, trust, and wait… but God seems to remain silent. However, His silence is not absence. This plan, based on the story of Lazarus and other passages in Scripture, will show you that God is never late—His delays are part of His purpose. Learn to recognize His voice in the silence, His hand in the waiting, and His power in the process.
