Hidden Treasure in Dark Places: Heartbreak & Hopeનમૂનો

Where Were You?
Have you ever found yourself angry with God, crying out, “Lord, if You had been here, this wouldn’t have happened”? You’re not alone. Mary and Martha felt that same heartbreak when their brother Lazarus grew sick and died. This was their sweet brother, the one they laughed with, shared life with, and now mourned deeply.
If you’re reading this, you may have your own “Lazarus.” Maybe it’s a relationship that ended too soon, a dream that failed, or trauma that left you breathless. You’ve wondered, “God, where are You?”
Yet, in John 11:15, Jesus says something unexpected: “And I am glad for your sakes that I was not there, that you may believe.”
It doesn’t make sense at first. How could He be glad when they were in such pain? But sometimes, it’s in the darkness...when everything feels lost...that we encounter God most deeply.
What if this is the very place where you’ll discover Him for yourself?
Could it be that even here, He has hidden treasure waiting for you in the dark?
Reflection:
What situation in your life has made you wonder, “God, where were You?” Take a moment to invite Him into that memory, not to explain it, but to begin healing it. What might He want to reveal to you there?
Prayer:
Father, I don’t always understand where You were when life broke me. But today, I choose to believe You never left. Show me the treasure hidden in this darkness. Help me to see Your presence even in the pain, and strengthen my heart to trust You again. Amen.
